heat-vs-ice

What relieves aches and pains? Heat vs Ice

End of Summer and Autumn bring great weather, more activity and the aches and pains that go with getting out more.  Here’s a quick chart from Cleveland Clinic to help you find relief.

And of course, this is the quick version.  It’s best to make sure your muscles are healing fast and a massage is the secret.  Call for your appointment to stay healthy as your activity soars.

heat-vs-cold

You’ll find some relief for muscle spasm, aches, pains, injuries and so on. There was a study in 1978 that said “cold is best immediately after injury.”  Now that has been debunked (supposedly), with the “experts” saying “use heat to heal.” Which will likely change again over the years.

There are some other studies, though, that use a combination of massage with amino acids that has really produced results.  Arginine has been successfully used to increase muscle mass in bodybuilders.

General athletes don’t want muscle bulk, they want strength and endurance. Yet arginine is required for muscle growth, so if you get muscle spasms, try taking arginine, then massaging the entire area.

It’s a powerful combination that heals, vs. just “band aid” symptoms.
